Lie Haar, a young women leader, has five years of experience in nonprofit organizations, and earned a double Master’s degree specializing in Environmental Management from the University of Senghor in Alexandria, Egypt and in Economics from the University of Fianarantsoa in Madagascar.
While working as civil society organizations technical assistant within WWF, she has developed specific skills in the field of protected areas governance by supporting local community-based organizations in the management of natural resources in Madagascar.
She was nominated as a Green Ambassador for Climate in Africa – GACA 2020 and won the public prize by participating on "My climate thesis in 180 seconds" competition organized by International Student Climate Network - UniC, with the subject “Ecological charcoal: an alternative to wood energy”.
Lie Haar has volunteered as a Francophone Regional Secretary and local coordinator at Africa Student For Liberty- SFL, an international nonprofit organization, and introduced the libertarian ideas for the first time in Madagascar. She aims to promote, develop and educate her peers by making a positive change for the well-being of her community.
She attended the YALI Regional Leadership Centers in South of Africa in 2016 and created the Malagasy Young Responsible Leaders association in order to empower women and engage youth on civic matters by developing their leadership skills.
She enjoys focusing on the topics of conservation of the natural resources, and has a strong passion for youth empowerment.
