Dr. Tawni Hunt Ferrarini is the R.W. Professor of Economic Education and Associate Director of the J.W. Hammond Institute, where she has taught since 2017. She earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Washington University in Saint Louis, where she studied under Nobel Laureate Douglass C. North. Her areas of specialization are institutional economics, economic history, and economic education. She has co-authored several books, including Common Sense Economics: What Everyone Should Know about Wealth and Prosperity (forthcoming) and Economic Episodes in American History. Additionally, she has published in scholarly journals and received many national and international accolades.
